I'm a firm believer there are two different kinds of cooks in this world. Those who follow a recipe like their life depends on it and those who use a recipe as a suggestion.
I'm a rule follower. I like order. Give me all the systems.
Can you guess what kind of cook I am?
But I married a free spirit. Brad is hands down THE BEST cook I know. I've never known him to follow ANY recipe and his food is fantastic. ALL. THE. TIME.
He is the head chef in our house.
Magic fruit dip is for the rule followers and the free spirits. It doesn't judge you. It doesn't need a recipe because I am convinced you could make this stuff a million different ways. But if you need the rules (like me.Yeah!), I've got you covered.
It's four ingredients of wonder. You can whip this up with things right out of your local Aldi store. Everything you see here, I picked up at my store.
Don't have an Aldi? No problem. Grab these things at your local grocery store. This dip is frugal and delicious. Make it for your next potluck or after school snack.
Be a hero! Everyone will love it!
You can thank me later.
GATHER UP YOUR FRIENDS. This dip needs 4 things. Seriously, it couldn't be easier. I promise.
7 oz of Marshmallow Fluff
Marshmallow fluff is a special purchase at Aldi. They don't carry it all year long. They usually carry it twice a year for a few months. My rule is this: when the marshmallow fluff is in, it’s magic fruit dip season at the Voigt house!
Of course, you can always grab marshmallow fluff at your local grocery store. It is near the jello and marshmallows.
8 oz Block of Cream Cheese
1 cup of Powdered Sugar
1/2 t. Vanilla Extract
If you have the powdered sugar and the vanilla in your pantry, this dip will cost you under $3.00 to make.
Take your marshmallow fluff and cream cheese and mix them together. If you've never worked with marshmallow fluff , it is SUPER sticky. You've been warned.
I mix this dip in my Kitchen Aid but you could do it by hand. Be sure to let the cream cheese soften a bit if you go that route. Trust me on that one!
Once your marshmallows and cream cheese are thoroughly mixed add the powdered sugar. I add mine 1/2 a cup at a time. There are no rules here, remember? But I do think the powdered sugar helps change the consistency when you add the sugar in slowly.
You'll find the powdered sugar will take most of the stickiness out of the dip. Your magic fruit dip will change into this greek yogurt/ almost frosting consistency once the sugar is all mixed it.
It's magic.
Or science.
You decide.
For the finale, throw in 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix well!
We serve our dip with whatever fruit is in season at Aldi. We love their berries, apples and grapes. Slice up what you have on hand and serve!

Thoroughly blend the marshmallow fluff and cream cheese. You could do this by hand but a mixer is so much faster. You do you!
