HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN BARREL / Open cut rectangle CUT OUT LEATHER EARRINGS WITH A FREE LEATHER EARRING SVG /PNG CUT FILE
Leather earrings are one of my favorite things to make with my Cricut. In fact, I have a library full of leather earring cut files for FREE!
If you have never cut leather on your Cricut Maker, don’t worry I have you covered. In this post, we used Cricut Brand Leather which cuts like a dream! But feel free to use your own creativity with this earring! I went with a fun acetate post but you could leave that out and use a fish hook if you want!
Play around with this and have fun! Be sure to check out my other cut files here!

Cricut Maker. I used a maker for this tutorial. You can use an Explore Air for this earring as well because I only used a deep cut blade. For more information on blades and machines go to my post on Cricut Blades 101.
Purple Mat. This is the BEST deals on mats!

STEP 3 CUT CRICUT GENUINE LEATHER
Place your Cricut Genuine Leather face down on a Strong Grip mat. Use a brayer to ensure the leather has adhered to your mat.
Cricut will prompt you to select the leather you are using. In this tutorial, we used Cricut Genuine Leather.
Be sure to load the deep cut blade in your machine.
Cut your leather.

STEP 4 PUNCH HOLE INTO THE LEATHER EARRINGS
With your leather earring punch, make a hole in the middle of one earring. An easy trick to make sure your punch is in the middle is to fold your earring in half and punch in the middle.
I find a leather punch gives you more control. My punch has several different sizes of holes. I always set my dial on the smallest hole when making leather earrings.
A simple trick I did for this earring was once I punched one hole, I laid on top of the earring without a hole. I lined it up, and punched a hole!
Repeat on the other side.
STEP 5 ATTACH EARRING HOOKS TO YOUR EARRINGS
First things first, you want to grab your jump rings.
Jump rings will connect your acetate post to your leather earring. To do this open your jump ring with flat nose pliers. Thread it through both the acetate post AND leather to connect both pieces.
Repeat on the other earring.
You did it! How easy was that! Now dream about all the other color combinations you could make with this earring. The options are endless!
