I love to keep things simple. I have been working on pairing down my wardrobe to create simple, effortless style. We created some fun and budget friendly capsule wardrobes for women. Check out our fall one here and our winter one here.
I think the key to a fabulous capsule wardrobe is in the accessories. A good set of accessories can really transform a basic wardrobe. This winter I have set aside 3 basic accessories that I wear all the time. Each of these pieces are handmade. They are beautiful, unique, and add just the right amount of fun and style to my basic winter capsule.
1. A Super Warm and Stylish Cowl
I love to make all my winter cowls. This pattern is my favorite knit right now. It is great for a beginning knitter (like Me!) I made it in the perfect cream color. It is warm and a fun addition to any outfit.
This cowl is another great option for all you crochet lovers. I wrote up the pattern for this here. The cowl is a statement and so very warm. The pattern is easy and also perfect for beginners.
2. A great beanie
A great beanie is a must for winter. A good beanie saves you from those bad winter hair days. A good beanie keep your whole body warm when it is ridiculously cold outside. A good beanie covers up all the bedhead in the morning carpool line (AMEN?).
My hat is from this crochet pattern. I love it. I've used it many times for gifts and other family members. It's a keeper. The banding is not too tight on my head and the bobble stitch is gorgeous!
3. A cute Ear-warmer
I love a great ear-warmer for chiller fall nights or warmer winter days. They keep your ears warm without giving you hat hair!
We love this crochet pattern. My daughter and I have made many of these. They are quick to make and cute to wear. Perfect project for beginners.
Grab some knitting needles or your favorite hooks and make some beautiful winter staples for your capsule wardrobe. It won't take you long and you'll love all the unique looks you can add to your winter wardrobe this season.
