I love trying to design new and fun earrings on my Cricut. Making earrings is a simple craft to try on your Cricut machine. Even if you are a newbie and still have your machine in the box, try making earrings!
I have a tear drop design and folded tear drop design tutorials, but I’ve been seeing all these great geometric earrings made out of clay. I love this look, but it got me wondering. Could we make this same design with leather?
Yes. Yes, you can!

HOW TO DESIGN GEOMETRIC EARRINGS ON YOUR CRICUT MACHINE
Designing these earrings is simple. I used the shapes included in Cricut Design Space.
Open up Cricut Design Space. Click new Project. Your screen will look this this.
CLICK on the images tab on the left-hand side of your screen. ( See our blue arrow!)
Once your Project window is open, you can search each of these shapes. I do have a yearly subscription to Cricut Access. This membership will give you access to so many great shapes and fonts. Without it, you will pay per shape or whatever design piece you choose to work with. Cricut DOES have free options, but for many of my designs, you will be using paid shapes. You choose an option for as low as $7/month! In my opinion, it’s a great deal!
I adjusted each shape for the size I wanted. I played with the sizes of my shapes until I made the size earrings I wanted. Feel free to adjust the sizes of your shapes! I listed the sizes of my shapes below.
Circle - Adjusted to 1” wide
Half Moon - Adjusted to 1.5” wide
Bar or rectangle - adjusted to 2” long
(Bottom) Circle - Same size as the top circle, 1” wide
Click” Duplicate” for each size shape so you can cut two earrings! Your screen should look like this.
Now it’s time to cut! Follow the directions on your Cricut brand leather.
Be sure to lay your leather face down. This will save your mat and keep it going longer.
Cut your leather!
HOW TO ASSEMBLE LEATHER GEOMETRIC EARRINGS IN THREE SIMPLE STEPS
Assembling your leather earrings takes a few minutes so be pateint with yourself!
1)You’ll need to cut holes in each shape. Line up your earring in the order you want. I used a pencil to mark the back of each earring where I wanted to punch a hole.
Using your leather punch, make holes in your shapes. You’ll notice the half moon and the bar needs to line up. So pay extra attention when punching those holes. The final circle at the bottom needs to be in the middle of the bar. Take time to line up that hole as well. Again, a light pencil mark on the back saves you some headaches!
Don’t overthink this! It doesn’t have to be perfect. Go slow and line up your shapes!
2) Using a jump rings, assemble your earrings. It started at the top of my earring and worked down. I find using flat nose pliers AND rounded nose pliers make the work go by faster. You can use small jump rings or larger jump rings depending on the look you are going for and how thick your leather is.
3) Once your earrings are assembled, glue an earring back to your earring. Most glue takes about 24 hours to cure. Leave your earrings alone until the glue is set!
You did it! Aren’t they stunning?
Play with this design and make your own thing! There are so many variations you could do! The sky is the limit!
