We are thick in the middle of summer around here and I am soaking up the fiction. The kids have regular scheduled reading time each day so that is helping me push through some great books as well! I am linking up with Modern Mrs Darcy today. Head over there and get some more book inspiration!
On to my book report!
The Girl On the Train reminded me of Gone Girl but not as dark and twisted.. The perfect mystery thriller for summer or any relaxing vacation. I was instantly drawn into the story and read it in 3 days. It did not disappoint.
The Accident was the second Chris Pavone book I've read. His books usually cross the globe a time or two which instantly gets me. A mystery / thriller based on a tell-all book that no one wants published. Pavone's books usually have me guessing until the end. A good read.
Think of this book more like a collection of essays than a book. A quick read on resistance or the reason why we don't do the things we know we NEED to do. Honestly, I was haunted by the words in this book. It is helping me to push forward in a few areas that I have been willingly dragging my feet. A must read for an entrepreneur.
The kids and I read through this together. A 2014-2105 Mark Twain Nominee, Al Capone Does my Homework is an entertaining read. My kids really enjoyed this book! Al Capone does make an appearance so prepare yourself for a little history lesson. We enjoyed stopping and talking all about Alcatraz and Al Capone. It was an great story and history lesson all in one!
I keep seeing this book around the internet. I am starting it today.
I love Brene Brown so I was excited this finally came my way via the library.
