The kids are back at school, but the temperature still says SUMMER around here. My go-to pick-me-up at 3PM is this: Iced coffee. Perfect for hot weather and that mid-afternoon slump. Trust me when I tell you that iced coffee tastes MUCH better in this super cute jar. Want to make your own Ball Jar + Leather Sleeve Iced coffee tumbler? It is SO easy. First up, gather all those supplies. Many of the tools you need for this project I already had on hand when we made our hot coffee version of this project. I bought most of my supplies at Hobby Lobby. They have a good selection leather crafting materials.
Once you get our free pattern, cut your leather according to the pattern. A sturdy cutting mat really helps move this project along as leather can be hard to cut.
Using a leather punch, make holes in your sleeve. There are many ways you can lace up your sleeve. Personally, like the look of an "X" pattern but be creative! Make it your own.
We drilled a hole in our lid using THIS tutorial. We bought a drill bit and grommets at Lowe'. I did notice that Joann's now carries predrilled ball jar lids in store. So feel free to skip this step and buy yours already made!
Once you are finished, fill yours up with your favorite iced coffee! This tumbler travels well and fits in any standard car cup holder. It is frugal, stylish, and practical. My favorite kind of craft!!!
We prefer to cold brew our iced coffee in a french press. We use one part coffee and 2 parts water. We brew it overnight and then press. What is your favorite iced coffee recipe?
