Hot cocoa mix has become a staple around our house during the winter months. A few years back, we ditched the store bought cans of cocoa and starting making our own.
This homemade version tastes AMAZING. It is so much better than anything you can buy at the store. Plus this dry version is great for little hands to prepare.
We have ours next to our Nespresso with some marshmallows, straws, candy canes, and kid friendly cups!

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN HOMEMADE HOT COCA MIX
Peppermint Hot Cocoa Mix
makes ALOT. it will go fast. prepare yourself.
4 cups of dry milk powder
2 lb. box of Nesquik
1 16oz bottle of powdered creamer
1 cup of powdered sugar
1 small package of round peppermints candy or small candy canes
Grab a large bowl and pour in the first 4 ingredients. Mix well.
Take all the peppermints out of their individual wrappers. You can either crush these in a food processor or put in a large bag and smash with a hammer. Smash your peppermints into small pieces and add to your hot cocoa mixture.
Use about 3 T of hot cocoa mix to one cup of hot water. Mix well.
HOW TO STORE YOUR HOT COCOA MIX
This recipe makes a HUGE batch for very little money. I like to store a small jar on the counter or in a hot cocoa bar throughout the winter. You can use a large Ball Jar or a fun glass jar with a wooden lid.
Store the rest of your mix in an airtight container in your pantry until its time for a refill!
