I LOVE Anthropologie. Their displays in the stores are to DIE for. I stalk the sales and buy things when I can. Their clothes fit well and last forever. Their home goods make me swoon, but often the prices are WAY outside by budget.
I came across these Anthropologie curtains on Pinterest a few months back and fell in love. Pom Poms on all the things!! Unfortunately, they are $98/ panel. That is not gonna happen at my house.
A month or so later, I was wondering around Ikea and saw these Gulsporre panels and realized, I could HACK those Anthroplogie curtians. WOOT. Long story short: I made $98 Anthro curtains for $17!! Here's how I did it:
Gather your supplies!
You'll one package of Gulsporre Panels from Ikea, some pom-pom fringe in black, and your trusty hot-glue gun.
Hot Glue your pom pom fringe to your Ikea Curtains. You could glue it to both side of your panels. We choose to just glue to the inside seams. Of course, you COULD sew on your fringe, but that would be over-achieving in our book.
It helps to have a partner hold down and stretch out the fringe while you glue.
Hang those babies up! Admire your work and high-five your crafty partner!
We used curtain clips for ours, but you could hang them from a curtain rod.
There are so many variations you could do with this project. You could use bright colored pom poms or a bright colored curtain. You could glue your pom-pom fringe in rows horizontally. Get creative!
I ended up paying $32 for the curtians and $35 dollars for the pom pom fringe. I spent $67 total out of pocket. I made a total of 4 panels that cost me $16.75/each to make! Each panel at Anthropologie is $98 each. With this project, you can make 4 curtain panels for less than half the cost of ONE panel at Anthroplogie.
