DIY Chapstick

If you spend any time on Pinterest, you'll see lots of homemade chapstick recipes. I have been wanting to try this FOREVER! One Saturday I ordered all my supplies on Amazon. A few days later I ran to Michaels for some little tins. A week later, I was making my own chapstick in my kitchen. Crazy, right?

I used this GIANT chunk of Beeswax . I cut it into pieces. I have read others who suggest buying beeswax in pellets. Cutting beeswax is hard. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy the pellets.

I plan on using what is left to make beeswax lotion!

Basically, pour all your ingredients in a double boiler (i used shea butter, cocunut oil, and beeswax), melt, and pour into tins to cool.

The finished product was not as creamy as I would've liked. However, it does a great job of coating your lips without shine. The men in my house LOVE that! The girls are going to make another batch with lots of shine and gloss! Amen?

All in all, I am pretty happy with it. It took me 15 minutes tops to make and is full of GREAT ingredients. I couldn't be happier.
